Selank
Also known as: Selanc, TP-7
Selank is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide based on tuftsin, a naturally occurring peptide known for its role in immune regulation. It is primarily studied for its possible benefits in reducing anxiety, improving stress tolerance, stabilizing mood, enhancing cognition, and modulating immune function. In neuropeptide research, Selank is commonly used to explore ways of supporting concentration, emotional stability, and cognitive performance, offering potential advantages over conventional anxiolytics by not causing sedation.
•Status: Approved in Russia but not by the FDA. It was removed from Category 2 in September 2024, with a planned reclassification to Category 1 expected by April 15, 2026, according to an HHS announcement. However, it remains classified as Category 2 under current regulations until the FDA formally updates its status. A review by the PCAC is scheduled for July 23–24, 2026. Evidence is based on human clinical trials.
•Typical administration: 250–500 mcg intranasally, two to three times per day. The most common form is an intranasal spray, though subcutaneous injection is also used.
