Description
Pasireotide
Also known as: Signifor, Signifor LAR
Pasireotide is a next-generation synthetic somatostatin analog peptide designed to bind multiple somatostatin receptor subtypes with high affinity. It is used in the management of Cushing’s disease, acromegaly, and other endocrine disorders involving excessive hormone production. Compared with earlier somatostatin analogs, Pasireotide offers broader receptor activity, allowing for more comprehensive suppression of hormone secretion in specific clinical settings.
Clinical and research applications commonly include:
- Cushing’s disease treatment
- Acromegaly management
- Regulation of ACTH and cortisol production
- Growth hormone suppression
- Advanced endocrine disorder management
• Status: Approved by the FDA. Evidence level: FDA-approved.
