Description
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val)
Also known as: Lys-Pro-Val, Alpha-MSH fragment
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a potent anti-inflammatory tripeptide originating from the C-terminal segment of alpha-MSH (melanocyte-stimulating hormone). Though composed of just three amino acids, it has drawn significant research interest for its potential effects on gut health, immune regulation, skin regeneration, wound healing, and the management of systemic inflammation. Unlike other melanocortin peptides such as Melanotan, KPV does not activate pathways related to skin tanning or pigmentation. Its significance lies largely in its ability to suppress NF-κB signaling, a central driver of inflammatory responses in the body.
A particularly notable characteristic of KPV is its potential stability when ingested orally, which enhances its relevance in studies focused on gastrointestinal health and inflammatory bowel conditions. Current research often examines its use in connection with:
– Reducing intestinal inflammation and supporting the gut barrier
– Addressing skin inflammatory conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea
– Modulating immune activity and cytokine balance
– Promoting tissue repair and accelerating wound healing
• Status: Still in preclinical phase – research is currently underway. Evidence based on animal studies.
• Common dosage range: 200 to 500 mcg per day, administered once or twice daily, via subcutaneous injection or oral capsules.
• Investigated for potential use in treating gut inflammation, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), various skin conditions, and general anti-inflammatory applications.
